Scottsdale, Arizona is a fantastic place to live and work, and if you are not lucky enough to live here, then come and visit and enjoy the fun. There are relaxing, entertaining, and unusual activities that will add some flare to your life. Many people have second homes or rent for several months of the year when it is nice weather in the desert. If you are going to do that, then make sure you have the proper insurance coverage.
Here are a few things that Scottsdale offers:
Jump in a jeep or ATV and take a guided tour to see the beautiful Sonoran Desert terrain and wildlife like javelina, coyotes, jack rabbits, and roadrunners. Truck along dirt roads taking in the extreme desert mountain vistas and rocky washes filled with vegetation. There are several landmarks to experience, so get out there and have a great adventure.
Hiking in Scottsdale
There are all kinds of paths to hike in and around Scottsdale. The difficulty varies from very easy to strenuous, so there is a little of something for every level of enthusiast. Just remember, you are in a desert so be prepared with a lot of drinking water and sun protection. The last thing you want to do is over exert yourself and get heat stroke! Very early morning is a great time to hike in the warmer months, but when it is cooler, you can hike almost any time. If you go later in the afternoon, be sure to take a flashlight because walking down a rocky path in the dark can be hazardous.
The Waste Management Phoenix Open
This is known as the Greatest Show on Grass and was formerly called the FBR open. The Open is the biggest golf event in Arizona and happens every year around the first week of February. It is one of the largest PGA events in the United States. It takes place at the TPC Scottsdale Golf Course and is open to the general public. It is quite a good time, so don’t miss out on the chance to go.
Hot Air Balloon Rides
There is nothing quite like floating above the Sonoran Desert at the wee hours of the morning when the sun is just penetrating above the mountains casting its beams across the desert fauna. It is a quiet and relaxing way to experience the wild terrain surrounding the Scottsdale area. You might be able to take a mimosa with you for a little extra celebration.
